Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters Thoroughly Reviews Chuseok Safety Measures at Fire Commanders' Meeting

On the 11th, the Gyeongnam Fire Department held a meeting of fire command officers in Gyeongnam Province to review fire safety measures and special emergency duty plans for the Chuseok holiday period.

The meeting, presided over by Chief Kim Jaebyung, included a review of the progress of fire safety measures, a briefing on key topics and directives from the national command officers' meeting, and the sharing of major fire policies and current issues of the Gyeongnam Fire Department.

Measures to prepare for emergencies and the expected increase in 119 emergency calls during the Chuseok holiday were also discussed.

Chief Kim stated, "We will maintain a proactive response posture by establishing readiness for emergency dispatch and reinforcing 119 emergency medical consultation personnel during the Chuseok holiday," adding, "We will do our utmost to establish a flawless emergency response system so that all residents can spend the holiday safely."

The Gyeongnam Fire Department will implement special emergency duty for the Chuseok holiday from the 13th to the 19th.

More than 13,800 personnel, including firefighters and volunteer fire brigades, along with 721 pieces of equipment, will be on standby for immediate dispatch. The response will be managed in three stages?prevention, preparedness, and response?to prevent disaster incidents 24 hours a day.

Through the 119 Emergency Situation Management Center, the department also plans to provide real-time information on operating hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, as well as emergency medical guidance for patients.
