Agreement with World Culture and Arts Promotion Association and Selturn
Development of Departments and Curricula for Adult Learners
Kyungnam College of Information & Technology (President: Kim Taesang), which is striving to become "the leading community college representing Busan," is accelerating the development of educational programs for adults.
On the 12th, the college signed an agreement with the World Association for the Promotion of Arts and Culture (WAPA) and Selturn in the university's main conference room to launch a "Senior Model Program" for adult learners.
Through this agreement, the three organizations will collaborate extensively in areas such as joint development of curricula, shared use of equipment, graduate employment support, employee training, and reemployment programs, thereby strengthening the lifelong education system for adult learners.
Kyungnam College of Information & Technology will establish the "Senior Model Program" within the K-Beauty Stylist Department for the 2025 academic year, supporting adult learners in model activities during their studies in cooperation with the partner institutions.
After graduation, the college plans to facilitate model activities and employment or entrepreneurship in the beauty industry by helping students obtain certifications such as Model Image Coaching Director and Comprehensive Beautician License.
The World Association for the Promotion of Arts and Culture (WAPA) is a non-profit organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that promotes Korean culture and arts both domestically and internationally and engages in various activities to enhance international cultural exchange.
WAPA organizes various cultural and artistic events to promote Korea, such as the Korea Queen Contest and Senior Model Hanbok Fashion Show, and conducts various welfare activities, including offering free traditional Korean wedding ceremonies for multicultural families.
Selturn is a Busan-based company specializing in the research and development of cell-activating cosmetics and the development and supply of anti-aging skincare service systems and healthcare devices.
Kyungnam College of Information & Technology is already gaining popularity with its interdisciplinary programs for adult learners. The "Digital Literary Creative Writing Department," launched last year, combines creative writing and media production, enabling students to debut as writers and achieve notable results.
The "Real Estate Business Department," which integrates advanced technology with real estate studies, offers not only real estate knowledge but also hands-on training using drones and YouTube video production courses. Recently, this department signed an agreement with the Busan Chapter of the Korea Association of Realtors to strengthen the real estate expert program for adult learners.
President Kim Taesang stated, "We are launching new educational programs to contribute to the healthy lives of the rapidly emerging senior generation in this era of low birth rates and an aging population," and added, "Kyungnam College of Information & Technology will continue to operate a variety of interdisciplinary educational programs that meet the needs of adult learners and strive to fulfill its role as Busan's leading community college."
Gyeongnam Information University is signing an agreement with the World Culture and Arts Promotion Association to strengthen the Department of Adult Convergence Studies.
