Replenishing and Maintaining Lost Hwangto for Chuseok Holiday
Seon Yang Soju announced that it has newly renovated the Hwangto Trail at Gyeryong Spatel in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, which was created for citizens' relaxation and healing.
On the 8th, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, Seon Yang Soju replenished the lost hwangto (yellow soil) on the Gyeryong Spatel Hwangto Trail and improved the path to make it more comfortable for barefoot walking.
The Gyeryong Spatel Hwangto Trail is a small urban trail of about 400 meters, established by Seon Yang Soju in 2012. Located in the city, it is easily accessible to citizens and is adjacent to the Yuseong Hot Spring Park foot bath experience center.
This small urban hwangto trail offers a place for a brief rest and healing through barefoot walking. Many office workers and merchants visit during early mornings before work, lunchtime and breaks, and after work.
Seon Yang Soju has been actively promoting the culture of barefoot walking on hwangto trails in urban areas in cooperation with local governments and institutions, including: the 1km Asan Sinjeongho Hwangto Trail (2009), the 400m Daejeon Clover Apartment Hwangto Trail (2010), the 2.5km Cheonan/Asan Yonggok Park Hwangto Trail (2011), the 400m Gyeongseong Keunmaeul Apartment Hwangto Trail (November 2011), the 350m Daejeon Gyeryong Spatel Hwangto Trail (2012), the 450m KAIST Hwangto Trail (2012), and the 1.3km Dangjin Samseonsan Arboretum Hwangto Trail (2019).
Kim Hyunwoo, Head of External Cooperation at Seon Yang Soju, said, "The Gyeryong Spatel Hwangto Trail is a space where you can walk barefoot at any time in the city," and added, "We are grateful to Yuseong District Office and Gyeryong Spatel for their efforts to allow visitors to comfortably enjoy barefoot walking."
