Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, claimed that Kim Geon-hee, the wife of President Yoon Seok-yeol, is effectively the number one power figure and emphasized that he would uncover suspicions of her involvement in the nomination process for the 22nd general election.

On the 12th, at a policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, Floor Leader Park said, "On the 10th, Kim Geon-hee visited the Mapo Bridge area to encourage on-site workers such as 119 rescue teams and police officers, and her use of words like listening, action, and improvement makes it seem as if she considers herself a ruler," adding, "Looking at the photos and reports released by the Presidential Office, it became clear that she is 'V1'." V1 is an abbreviation for VIP, meaning the top rank in the power hierarchy.

He continued, "Not only the Presidential Office and the ruling party but also the prosecution are more focused on protecting Kim Geon-hee than President Yoon," and pointed out, "The investigation into the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation allegations has practically not progressed, and after the imperial investigation, even the prosecution’s investigation review committee was convened to grant her an acquittal." Furthermore, mentioning suspicions of external pressure on the investigation into the death of Chae Sang-byeong, preferential treatment allegations related to Kim Geon-hee’s family concerning the Yangpyeong highway, and suspicions of interference in the general election nomination process, he said, "Day by day, massive criminal suspicions are piling up, and the name 'Kim Geon-hee' has become synonymous with unfairness and state affairs manipulation," adding, "Public anger is on the verge of exploding over state affairs manipulation even worse than that of Choi Soon-sil."

Floor Leader Park emphasized that he would reveal the substance of the suspicions related to Kim Geon-hee through the Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act, which passed the National Assembly’s Legislation and Judiciary Committee the previous day. He said, "The overwhelming majority of the public wants a special prosecutor for Kim Geon-hee," and added, "The Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act is not a subject of political strife but a measure to restore fairness, common sense, and justice, which have disappeared under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration." He continued, "The Democratic Party will uncover the substantial truth of various criminal suspicions and state affairs manipulation through the special prosecutor for Kim Geon-hee and restore the lost fairness and common sense."
