Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Su-hee Visits Social Welfare Facilities Ahead of Chuseok

Visited Facility Workers and Users to Deliver Consolation Money and Express Gratitude

Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, visited the Godeok Senior Welfare Center on the 9th to extend Chuseok greetings to the elderly. Provided by Gangdong-gu.

Seoul Gangdong-gu announced on the 12th that District Mayor Lee Su-hee visited six social welfare facilities in the district from the 9th to the 11th to convey encouragement to workers and users in celebration of Chuseok, and also participated in volunteering to prepare ‘Bok (福) Packages’ for vulnerable groups in the community.

Mayor Lee visited Woseongwon and Amsa Rehabilitation Center to deliver holiday consolation money and encourage the facility workers. At Gangdong Dream Village and Myeongjin Wildflower Love Village, she gifted book vouchers to children, expressing her hope that they have a joyful holiday. At the Municipal Godeok Nursing Home, she delivered holiday consolation money along with Chuseok fruits she personally prepared, offering warm greetings to the elderly.

Mayor Lee participated in volunteering to prepare ‘Bok Packages’ by packaging traditional holiday foods together with volunteers at Seongnae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. The participants prepared a total of 500 ‘Bok Packages’ containing various donated items including songpyeon and sikhye, which were delivered to low-income elderly and single-person households in the area.

District Mayor Lee Su-hee said, “I express my deep gratitude and respect to the facility workers who silently dedicate themselves to the local community and to the volunteers who work hard for neighbors in need.”
