130 Companies and 3,231 Participants

As the employment season approaches in the second half of this year, universities have stepped up their employment support for current students and graduates. Various programs such as one-on-one counseling, free photo shoots, and customized feedback have been prepared, receiving positive responses from job seekers.

Seoul National University held the ‘2024 Second Half Recruitment Fair’ from the 3rd to the 4th of this month. About 130 companies, including large corporations, foreign companies, and mid-sized enterprises, participated along with 3,231 students. One-on-one consultations with company HR managers and alumni, application form consulting, interview image consulting, and resume photo shoots were conducted.


The Career Development Center at Seoul National University stated, "We have continuously strived to nurture core talents who meet social demands and help outstanding students enter society," adding, "Hiring new personnel is an investment in the future and an opportunity for talents with diverse backgrounds and dreams to become responsible leaders in society."


Chung-Ang University held the ‘2024 Employment Fair’ from the 9th to the 11th of this month. Under the theme ‘Challenge for Tomorrow, Leap toward My Job,’ recruitment officers from 96 companies including large corporations, financial institutions, and public enterprises participated. Consulting services such as free resume photo shoots and personal color diagnosis were also provided. Kim Minsu, a student majoring in Advertising and Public Relations, commented, "There is a vast amount of employment information online, but it is not easy to discern which information is accurate," and praised, "Meeting and talking with company HR managers allowed me to obtain accurate employment information, which I found very meaningful."


Chung-Ang University has been breaking its highest employment rate records every year, and its systematic employment support measures such as the integrated self-development management system ‘Rainbow System,’ the learner-customized education support system ‘CAU e-Advisor,’ and mentoring programs where current students meet alumni seniors, as well as job fairs, are credited for this success.


Park Sanggyu, President of Chung-Ang University, said, "We provide detailed guidance based on artificial intelligence (AI) to offer practical help for students’ career planning and social advancement. We hope this employment fair will be of great help to the students."

Sungkyunkwan University is operating an ‘Intensive Employment Support Period’ this month in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Seoul Employment Center. On the 4th, Sungkyunkwan University held a self-introduction consulting camp at the 600th Anniversary Hall of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus with employment specialist YouTuber ‘Interview King Lee Hyung.’ A representative from the Sungkyunkwan University University Job Plus Center stated, "We plan to continue providing various support programs for the successful employment of current students and local youth."


Park Kisung, a student majoring in Korean Language and Literature, said, "The self-introduction camp gave me an opportunity to look at my self-introduction letter in a new way. Communicating with Interview King Lee Hyung provided practical tips for actual interview situations, which was very helpful." Song Myungjin, a student majoring in Media Communication, said, "At first, I was overwhelmed by writing the self-introduction letter, but through this camp, I learned how to write it and strategies to respond," adding, "The feedback sessions helped me understand my strengths and areas for improvement in detail, which was great."


Samyook University conducted an ‘Intensive Training for Domestic Airline Cabin Crew Recruitment’ for five weeks until the 1st of last month as part of the University Job Plus Center project. This is a hub-type specialized program, with a total of 18 participants including 14 Samyook University students and graduates and 4 local youths. Trainees were selected through preliminary interviews from applicants interested in employment as cabin crew for domestic airlines who possessed foreign language skills at the level of passing document screening.


The instructor was Teddy Teacher, a mentoring specialist influencer for airline cabin crew, who conducted 40 hours of intensive training over five weeks. The training covered domestic airline industry and company analysis, interview trends and acceptance trend analysis, establishing acceptance strategies based on self-analysis, guidance on writing proper answers, voice and image training, video interview training and feedback, discussion interview training and feedback, and on-site mock interviews and feedback.
