A story has emerged about a police officer who used quick thinking to prevent what could have been a major accident.

According to the Anyang Dongan Police Station in Gyeonggi Province on the 11th, Sergeant Kwon Kyung-seok and Sergeant Lee Seong-min of the Bisan District Unit were responding to a 112 emergency call at an apartment complex in their jurisdiction around 3:30 PM on July 17th when they happened to witness a truck driving downhill in reverse. The truck was speeding down the road while colliding with a passenger car. At that time, a playground was located right next to the road, with many residents including children present, making the situation even more dangerous.

The two officers initially thought it was a minor collision and ordered the vehicle to stop, but when the truck did not halt, they realized something was wrong and forcibly stopped it. Investigation revealed that the truck owner had forgotten to engage the parking brake after parking. He said, "I saw the truck moving and desperately tried to catch it and run after it, but it was impossible to stop the vehicle."

Ultimately, the patrol car had to collide with the truck, but this prevented a major accident that could have struck the playground. Sergeant Lee said, "Seeing the vehicle speeding toward the playground, I only thought to stop it with the patrol car," adding, "Although I had to undergo outpatient treatment for six weeks due to injuries, I felt proud to have prevented what could have been a serious accident."

Netizens who heard the story responded with comments such as, "The officers who made quick decisions are truly amazing," "The children must have been very scared, but thankfully no accident occurred," and "I am always grateful to police officers with such a strong sense of duty."
