Establishing Legal Basis to Support Prestigious Schools in Topyeong 2 District Public Housing Area
A meeting to establish an ordinance supporting the attraction of prestigious schools to Guri City, hosted by Guri City Council member Kim Han-seul, was held on the 10th. The Guri City Council in Gyeonggi Province has taken steps to establish a legal basis to support the attraction of prestigious schools to the Topyeong 2 District public housing area, which is set for full-scale development.
According to the city council on the 11th, a meeting to enact an ordinance supporting the attraction of prestigious schools in Guri City, led by Councilor Kim Han-seul, was held the previous day in the Special Committee Room. Attendees included officials from Guri City's Student Learning Division, Urban Development Division, and the Guri-Namyangju Office of Education.
Councilor Kim and the relevant officials engaged in in-depth discussions on the clear and objective definition of prestigious schools within the Topyeong 2 District public housing area (such as specialized middle and high schools in international and science fields, autonomous private high schools, schools affiliated with universities and large corporations), the necessity of attracting such schools, and plans for securing funding.
Councilor Kim stated, "Attracting prestigious schools to the Guri area is not merely about establishing a single school in the Topyeong 2 public housing district. It is expected to generate numerous economic benefits, so I will make every effort to ensure that prestigious schools are successfully attracted."
Chairperson Shin Dong-hwa said, "This is a valuable opportunity to expand educational conditions so that talented individuals in Guri City can focus on their studies," adding, "The local community must work together to ensure that good school establishment plans are reflected in the development project of the Topyeong 2 public housing district."
