Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Announces Call for Regional Representative Arts Organizations Support Project

Up to 2 Billion Won Annual Support Including Local Government Funds

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 11th that it will open applications from metropolitan and basic local governments (excluding Seoul) to participate in next year's regional representative arts group support project from October 30 to November 29.

The Ministry supports the project expenses jointly with local governments by evaluating regional performing arts groups selected by the local governments. It selects excellent performing arts groups based in the region and provides up to 2 billion KRW annually per group (combined national and local government funds).

This year, up to 50% of the national funding was subsidized. Next year, national funding support will increase up to 70% depending on the financial independence of the applying local governments.

This year, through two rounds of applications, the Ministry selected 42 '2024 Regional Representative Arts Groups' and supported 15.4 billion KRW together with 32 local governments nationwide.
