Daegu Office of Education to Recruit 96 Kindergarten and Elementary School Teachers, 37 More Than This Year

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eunhee) announced the '2025 Daegu Metropolitan City Public Kindergarten, Elementary School, and Special School (Kindergarten, Elementary) Teacher Recruitment Examination Plan' at 10 a.m. on June 11 via the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education website.


The number of public teachers to be recruited for the 2025 academic year is 96, including 12 for kindergartens, 73 for elementary schools, and 11 for special schools (2 for kindergartens and 9 for elementary schools), which is an increase of 37 compared to the 2024 academic year.

Applications will only be accepted online for five days, from 9 a.m. on June 30 to 6 p.m. on October 4, through the 'Online Faculty Recruitment System.'


The first round of the examination will be held on November 9, and the second round will take place over three days from January 8 to January 10, 2025. The final successful candidates will be announced on February 5, 2025.


Meanwhile, starting from the 2024 teacher recruitment examination, the validity period for the Korean History Proficiency Test scores has been abolished, making all scores from the 72nd test (level 3 or higher) valid for this exam. Additionally, the scope of the curriculum for the first round of the exam will be expanded to include the 2022 revised curriculum for elementary grades 1 to 4.


For private elementary schools, recruitment will be conducted through each foundation's own open selection process, so applicants should refer to the announcements on each foundation and school's website. There will be no new recruitment for private special school elementary teachers for the 2025 academic year.
