Regarding the allegations of incitement to mass resignation of residents by current and former executives of the Korean Medical Association (KMA), Kim Yu-young, the representative of residents at Samsung Seoul Hospital, appeared at the police station as a witness.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Public Crime Investigation Unit summoned Kim Yu-young, the representative of residents at Samsung Seoul Hospital, to the Metropolitan Investigation Division building in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 11th for questioning as a witness.
Representative Kim said, "It makes me angry that those in power who receive VIP treatment at tertiary hospitals decide on medical issues and policies regardless of when or where someone is sick." He added, "I am an anesthesiology resident and have dreamed of becoming a specialist in pediatric anesthesia. However, I have given up on that dream."
Earlier, the police summoned Park Dan, the emergency committee chairman of the Korean Intern Resident Association (KIRA), as a witness on the 21st of last month, and have been investigating representatives of residents from the 'Big 5' hospitals, including Park Jae-il, the representative of residents at Seoul National University, one by one.
The police have filed charges against six current and former executives of the KMA, including President Lim Hyun-taek, for violations of the Medical Service Act, obstruction of business under the Criminal Act, incitement, and aiding and abetting, and have been conducting investigations since February.
