4700 Real Estate Agents Join Gyeonggi-do's 'Safe Jeonse Checkpoint Campaign'

4700 Real Estate Agents Join Gyeonggi-do's 'Safe Jeonse Checkpoint Campaign' Poster for the Safety Jeonse Project promoted by Gyeonggi Province

More than 4,000 licensed real estate agents have participated in Gyeonggi Province's 'Safe Jeonse Checkpoint Campaign' over the past two months.

The Safe Jeonse Checkpoint Campaign is a social movement based on the voluntary social responsibility and cooperation of licensed real estate agents. Starting in July, licensed agents have taken the lead in preventing Jeonse-related damages, aiming to increase transparency in the real estate market and help residents safely conclude Jeonse contracts.

As of the 10th of this month, 4,700 licensed real estate agents have joined the Safe Jeonse Checkpoint Campaign, accounting for 15% of the 30,000 registered agents in the province.

Earlier, on July 15, Gyeonggi Province and the Korea Association of Licensed Real Estate Agents announced the 'Gyeonggi Safe Jeonse Project,' which includes the Safe Jeonse Checkpoint Campaign and the Safe Jeonse Management Team.

Licensed agents who signed up for the campaign must adhere to the following: ▲ refrain from brokering risky properties ▲ provide accurate property information to tenants ▲ check the real estate agent checklist to prevent Jeonse damages ▲ provide tenants with a checklist to prevent Jeonse damages ▲ disclose the identity of real estate office staff ▲ notify changes in rights or contract information after signing ▲ report malicious landlords.

Gyeonggi Province issues 'Safe Jeonse Keeper' stickers to participating agents so that residents can easily identify trustworthy real estate offices.

Lee Gye-sam, Director of the Urban Housing Office of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized, "This campaign will play an important role in preventing Jeonse damages in advance through the voluntary participation of licensed real estate agents. For residents looking for Jeonse during the moving season, choosing a real estate office with the 'Safe Jeonse Keeper' mark is an important first step toward a safe Jeonse contract."
