They informed over 3,100 students about the recent increase in sex crimes involving the misuse of artificial intelligence image synthesis technology, known as Deepfake.

They emphasized that creating or distributing photos or videos that synthesize another person's appearance using Deepfake technology is a clear crime, and distributed related promotional materials.

An official from Changwon Jungbu Police stated, "Cases of Deepfake pornography production and distribution are increasing and emerging as a serious social issue. We will continue efforts to prevent juvenile crime by raising awareness of Deepfake crimes, providing psychological counseling support for victims, and promoting special prevention education."
