Gyeonggi-do Hidden Corners Tourism Theme Alley Contest Project
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 10th that it has been conducting the ‘Uijeongbu Budae Jjigae Meokjjikgu (Eat, Take Photos, and Sightsee) Stamp Tour’ in the Budae Jjigae Street area from last month until next month for travelers nationwide.
The Budae Jjigae Stamp Tour is a collaborative tourism service under the ‘Gyeonggi-do Hidden Tourism Theme Alley Development’ contest project, hosted and organized by the Uijeongbu Budae Jjigae Premium Association, and supported by Gyeonggi Province, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, and the city.
Through this, the city is presenting a food tourism participation planning event based on Budae Jjigae Street, focusing on developing stay-type tourism and revitalizing the local economy.
The tour operates by fulfilling the visit certification conditions through a combination of stamps: one stamp obtained after dining at the essential course (Budae Jjigae Street, including Hoguk-ro and Taepyeong-ro areas), and additional stamps collected by visiting tourist attractions (Haengbok-ro, Jeil Market, Yeokjeon Neighborhood Park, and Uijeongbu Station Underground Shopping Center).
Participants can receive rewards in three stages according to the number of completed stamps.
Park Gil-soon, president of the Budae Jjigae Premium Association, said, “We have prepared a valuable tourism product where visitors can taste Uijeongbu’s representative dish and explore nearby tourist attractions,” adding, “We hope many travelers will have an interesting and enjoyable tourism experience.”
