'Youth Economic Academy' until October... 'Jeonse Fraud Prevention Education' and '1:1 Financial Counseling' Provided
Practical Education for Youth to Support Housing Stability and Solve Investment Concerns
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) is operating the ‘Youth Economic Academy’ to provide valuable information aimed at stabilizing housing and resolving financial concerns for young people who have suffered significant damage from jeonse fraud.
Although the ‘Special Act on Jeonse Fraud’ has been in effect for over a year, the nightmare of jeonse fraud continues. Young people taking their first steps into society often struggle with rental contracts, home ownership, and salary management due to a lack of proper income management methods or economic awareness.
Accordingly, the district is conducting the ‘Economic Academy’ at the ‘Seoul Youth Center Yeongdeungpo’ until October to help prevent jeonse fraud damage among youth and assist with proper asset management.
In particular, the program for this ‘Economic Academy’ was designed by reflecting the opinions of young people gathered through the ‘Youth Policy Special Lecture and Empathy Talk Show’ held with the district mayor in the first half of the year.
The district plans to support and firmly back young people, who are the pillars of our society, through practical ‘economic education.’ With Yeongdeungpo’s youth population being the second highest among Seoul’s autonomous districts at 130,000, the district is taking the lead in alleviating young people’s difficulties and adding vitality to their daily lives.
The ‘Economic Academy’ consists of ‘Jeonse Fraud Prevention Education’ and ‘1:1 Financial Counseling.’ The ‘Jeonse Fraud Prevention Education’ will be held twice, on the 10th and 14th. It will focus on in-depth analysis of recent damage cases and prevention methods according to fraud types. Through this education, young tenants will learn about various situations and responses they may encounter during the jeonse contract process, as well as essential points to check when signing rental contracts.
Additionally, the personalized ‘1:1 Financial Counseling’ helps young people realize their dream of owning a home and provides valuable financial know-how such as consumption management and financial diagnosis tailored to each individual. Since this program received great response and high satisfaction in last year’s ‘Economic Academy,’ the district expects that financial counseling will greatly aid young people’s economic independence again this year.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “We will do our best to prevent social issues faced by young people, such as jeonse fraud damage, for young people who have embarked on their dreams of independence.” He added, “We will continue to communicate directly with young people and implement effective youth policies that support their dreams.”
