Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Department of Radiology Becomes First in Busan to Receive Accreditation for Radiology Education Evaluation

Seventh Among All Radiology Departments Nationwide

Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology (President Kim Youngdo) has become the first in the Busan region and the seventh among all radiology-related departments nationwide to receive accreditation for radiological education.

The university announced on the 10th that it held a plaque unveiling ceremony after receiving the certificate of accreditation from the Korean Radiological Technologists Association and the Korea Institute for Radiological Education Assessment on the 9th.

Attendees at the accreditation plaque ceremony included Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology President Kim Youngdo, Dean of Academic Affairs Kim Daekyung, Director of Administration Sim Seongyong, President of the Korean Radiological Technologists Association Han Junghwan, Director of the Korea Institute for Radiological Education Assessment Kwon Deokmun, and President of the Busan Radiological Society Yoon Juho.

The Korea Institute for Radiological Education Assessment selects universities for accreditation by reviewing applications submitted by institutions seeking educational accreditation. Selected universities prepare a self-assessment report and undergo a document review and on-site evaluation to receive final accreditation for radiological education.

The evaluation criteria include the department's vision and operational system, curriculum structure, student guidance and welfare, faculty recruitment and support, educational and welfare facilities, and educational outcomes. The Department of Radiology at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology was recognized as an accredited educational institution, receiving an excellent rating in 13 out of 34 detailed evaluation elements and a satisfactory rating in the remaining 21.

Jae Jaeyong, head of the Department of Radiology at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology, stated, "Although we received the education accreditation evaluation based on our previous curriculum and environment, we will continue to develop our education and environment to nurture high-quality radiological technologists as the first institution in the Busan region to receive radiological education accreditation."
