GS·BGF Retail 2024 Second Half New Employee Recruitment... Double-Digit Hiring

Online and Offline Job Counseling Sessions Too

GS Retail and BGF Retail are both launching open recruitment for new employees in the second half of the year.


GS Retail announced on the 10th that it will accept applications for new employee recruitment until the 23rd. They will hire a double-digit number of employees in two business divisions: convenience store GS25 and home shopping GS Shop. The convenience store division is recruiting for sales management, while the home shopping division is hiring for four positions: product planning, producer (PD), logistics planning, and external cooperation. The recruitment process includes document screening, artificial intelligence (AI) competency tests, first interviews, second interviews, and employment medical examinations, with final successful candidates to be announced in December.

The convenience store division will conduct on-site interviews at major regional universities in addition to the general recruitment process in the second half of the year, following the same approach as in the first half. Candidates who pass the first interview held on university campuses in Gangwon-do, Jeju, and Chungbuk will be employed in those respective regions.


On the 19th, GS Retail will operate the "Inside GS Retail" program, which offers a tour of major business sites for prospective applicants. This program, introduced for the first time, aims to enhance understanding of the company and the distribution industry and to address questions related to recruitment.


GS Retail will also visit regional universities to hold recruitment briefings. Starting with Jeonbuk National University and Chungbuk National University on the same day, followed by Jeju National University on the 11th, Chonnam National University and Chungnam National University on the 12th, and Kangwon National University on the 19th. On the 23rd, a recruitment briefing is scheduled at the GS25 flagship store Door to Seongsu in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. Earlier this month, GS Retail participated in recruitment fairs at major universities in Seoul, including Korea University, Yonsei University, Seoul National University, Sogang University, and Hanyang University, alongside GS Group affiliates such as GS Engineering & Construction, GS Power, and GS Global.

BGF Retail, which operates the convenience store CU, is also accepting applications for new employees in the second half of the year until the 19th. They are hiring a double-digit number of new employees in four job categories: sales management, merchandise (MD), specialized fields (logistics and information technology), and management support (HR). The recruitment process includes document screening, AI competency tests, first and second interviews, and on-site practical evaluations. The on-site practical training is scheduled to take place for about five days in November.


BGF Retail is holding both online and offline recruitment briefings to address applicants' questions. Briefings were held at Dongguk University the day before and at Sungkyunkwan University on the day of the announcement. Upcoming briefings will be held at Changwon National University and Suncheon National University on the 11th, and at Gyeongsang National University and Dankook University (Cheonan) on the 12th. An online briefing will be held on the 13th for pre-registered applicants.


In line with this open recruitment schedule, BGF Retail is also recruiting officers for the sales management position who were discharged after June last year or are scheduled to be discharged by November this year. Detailed eligibility and recruitment schedules can be found on the recruitment website. A BGF Retail official stated, "Despite internal and external business uncertainties, we are creating quality jobs by hiring interns and new employees four times a year," adding, "We will continue to maintain an active stance on talent recruitment."
