The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) staff is under investigation by the police for allegedly leaking a complainant's personal information, leading to a forced search of the KCSC office and other locations.
On the morning of the 10th, the Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit of the Metropolitan Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency conducted a search and seizure of the KCSC office in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, and the residences of its employees on suspicion of violating the Personal Information Protection Act.
The police also raided the KCSC headquarters in January. Newstapa and MBC reported allegations that Chairman Ryu Hee-rim of the KCSC mobilized family members to file complaints against Newstapa's report on the 'Kim Man-bae-Shin Hak-rim false interview' and related citations. The KCSC requested an investigation regarding the leak of complainants' information.
