Recognized for Supporting the Local Economy, Solidifying Status as the Leading Regional Bank
BNK Kyongnam Bank has solidified its status as the leading local financial institution by being reselected as the primary depository bank in the announcement made by Changwon Special City on the 9th.
On July 22, Changwon City announced its plan to designate depository banks for 2024, seeking institutions to manage the primary and secondary depositories for a total budget of 3.9985 trillion KRW. Among them, BNK Kyongnam Bank was chosen as the operator of the primary depository.
As a result of this selection, BNK Kyongnam Bank will be responsible for managing Changwon City's primary depository from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2027, for a period of three years.
Since the inauguration of CEO Ye Kyungtak last year, BNK Kyongnam Bank has adopted the management slogan "A Major Force in the Local Economic Ecosystem!" and has made various efforts to contribute to the local community, which appear to have borne fruit with this achievement.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, BNK Kyongnam Bank has continuously provided business stabilization funds to local small business owners facing management difficulties, implemented measures such as maturity extensions and deferrals of principal and interest payments, and has served as a reliable pillar of the local economy.
In particular, on the 6th, the bank responded swiftly to local issues by providing 1 billion KRW in business stabilization funds at an ultra-low annual interest rate of 1.5% to small business owners affected by the fire at Masan Wholesale Market.
Based on these efforts, last month the bank was awarded the highest rating in the "2024 Financial Company Local Reinvestment Evaluation" announced by the Financial Services Commission, marking the fifth consecutive year it has received the top grade in the Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions.
CEO Ye Kyungtak stated, "I feel a deep sense of gratitude and heavy responsibility for the unwavering trust placed in BNK Kyongnam Bank. As the region's representative bank, we will continue to faithfully fulfill our role as a warm companion and reliable pillar for the local community, in order to repay the trust and support of local residents."
