Integrated Reservation System 'Akki Bank' Established and Operated
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 9th that it will establish and operate an 'Instrument Bank' where instruments can be rented through a simple reservation process.
The 'Instrument Bank' is a platform that identifies the inventory of instruments held by individual schools, selects and registers instruments that can be rented or managed, and shares them.
Instruments needed for curriculum education, after-school programs, student orchestras, and student art clubs can be reserved and used through the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education's integrated reservation system.
The Office of Education plans to equip high-priced instruments reflecting demand, as well as instruments that are neglected or unused in schools. Renting these instruments to schools or affiliated institutions is expected to increase utilization and help revitalize school arts education.
The 'Instrument Bank' will be continuously improved through ongoing management and field monitoring to make it convenient for many schools to use. In addition to rentals, a regional office-level instrument bank that can support local schools with instrument repairs and storage of idle instruments will also be established.
Lee Ji-hyun, Director of Secondary Education, said, “The establishment of the Instrument Bank is expected to enhance the utilization of instruments that are neglected or discarded in schools, leading to budget savings. We also believe it will play a significant role in expanding students' opportunities for artistic activities.”
