On the 8th, President Yoon Suk-yeol listened to discussions from the medical community regarding healthcare reform during a private dinner with senior members of the People Power Party, a presidential office official revealed on the 9th.

The presidential office official told reporters at the Yongsan Presidential Office that afternoon, "Yesterday, a senior metropolitan area lawmaker requested a 'lightning meeting' at 4 p.m., and the President had dinner for about two hours at the residence with several lawmakers."

The official explained, "One of them was Supreme Council Member In Yo-han, who spoke in detail about the situation in the medical community, and the President listened attentively." Council Member In is a former doctor at Severance Hospital and the Chair of the People Power Party's Special Committee on Medical Reform.

President Yoon reportedly said at the meeting, "I hope that compensation for emergency medical personnel is well established."

The presidential office official added, "The President frequently holds private meetings not only with lawmakers but also with local government heads and politicians to listen to public sentiment. He communicates often, both one-on-one and in groups over meals or tea."

Regarding the dinner between President Yoon and People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon and the party leadership, the official said, "It will take place after Chuseok."

President Yoon and Leader Han had originally planned to have dinner at the end of last month, but postponed the schedule until after Chuseok, prioritizing listening to public sentiment. Leader Han's side was reportedly unaware of the President's dinner schedule the day before, sparking controversy in political circles over the so-called 'Han Dong-hoon leader passing' issue.
