Environmental Cleanup Activities Conducted for Chuseok
Over 100 Volunteers Work Hard

POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks Friends Volunteer Group (Leader Choi Chang-rok) conducted a large-scale natural environment preservation activity at Su-eo Stream in Jinsang-myeon on the 7th, ahead of Chuseok.

With many visitors expected to come to Gwangyang City for the national holiday of Chuseok, the Friends Talent Volunteer Group carried out this volunteer activity to provide a pleasant environment for both visitors and local residents.

On the 7th, the Gwangyang Steelworks Friends Volunteer Group carried out environmental cleanup activities at Su-eocheon in Jinsang-myeon, Gwangyang.

In particular, about 70 members of the Friends Talent Volunteer Group, 15 members of the Gaya Lions Club, and around 10 public officials from Gwangyang City Hall participated, totaling approximately 100 volunteers. The activity holds significant meaning as it was carried out through cooperation between the public and private sectors with the goal of preserving the local ecosystem.

Participants walked along the banks of Su-eo Stream, engaging in weeding volunteer work. They removed weeds and piles of branches that harm the environment of Su-eo Stream and thoroughly cleaned up accumulated trash in the surrounding area, working hard to maintain the river through extensive environmental cleanup.

Choi Chang-rok, leader of the Gwangyang Steelworks Friends Talent Volunteer Group, said, “I hope the participants’ efforts will contribute to preserving the beautiful natural environment of the Su-eo Stream ecosystem. We wish that our environmental cleanup efforts will help clear water flow through Su-eo Stream and contribute to making Gwangyang a cleaner area.”
