68 Households Registered by the 23rd
Gyeongju City is accepting applications for its rental housing support program for youth and newlywed couples without homes until the 23rd, aiming to help them settle stably in the region.
Gyeongju City has allocated a budget of 450 million KRW to support rent for up to 68 households. Under agreements with landlords, the city will provide up to 550,000 KRW per month in rent support for one year.
Youth newlywed couples are only required to pay a monthly rent of 50,000 KRW and a security deposit. Gyeongju City will prepay the remaining amount of the annual rent (excluding the 50,000 KRW individual monthly payment) directly to the landlord.
The support applies to rental contracts with a monthly rent of up to 600,000 KRW and a security deposit of up to 5 million KRW.
Eligibility requirements include both spouses being registered residents of Gyeongju on the application date, being youth without homes (aged 19 to 39), and having registered their marriage within seven years as of the announcement date. In addition, the combined annual income of the couple must not exceed 50 million KRW.
However, recipients of basic livelihood housing benefits, beneficiaries of national or local government housing support programs, and public officials or public employees are excluded from eligibility.
Final recipients will be determined through a fair lottery program among applicants who meet all documentation and eligibility requirements.
Joo Nakyoung, Mayor of Gyeongju, said, "I hope that the rental housing support program for youth newlywed couples will help young generations settle stably in our region," adding, "We will continue to promote various youth policy initiatives to make Gyeongju a city where young people want to stay."
