Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) was selected as an innovation mentor institution by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and conducted 'Innovation Mentoring' to share innovation administration know-how with local governments in Seoul.

According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Hanam City on the 9th, the city provided consulting on ways to activate inter-departmental collaboration to Dobong-gu on August 9 and to Nowon and Dongjak-gu on September 6.

'Innovation Mentoring' is a program conducted as part of the '2024 Government Innovation Consulting' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It was planned to provide practical help to institutions by having officials in charge of innovation work at frontline local governments share their administrative know-how with each other.

Specifically, 21 institutions (9 central government, 12 local governments) selected as excellent institutions in the 2023 central and local government innovation evaluation participate as mentor institutions. Mentor institutions share innovation administration cases with institutions that wish to be mentees.

Hanam City was selected as an excellent institution ranked 4th nationwide in the 2023 innovation evaluation and participated in this innovation mentoring program as a mentor institution.

In this innovation mentoring program, Hanam City shared diverse know-how such as collaboration activation operation methods, work diet contests, methods for discovering Hanam City's outstanding innovation cases, and other cases and work experiences that innovation officers in each local government might be interested in, as well as the introduction and operation methods of similar projects.

Additionally, officials from various local governments who visited to benchmark Hanam City actively communicated by asking questions about ways to overcome work difficulties experienced during the promotion of innovation administration and how to implement policies tailored to the realities of local governments.

Mayor Lee Hyun-jae stated, "I am pleased that Hanam City, selected as an excellent institution in the innovation evaluation, can participate in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's innovation mentoring program and share the know-how of innovation administration that has produced various achievements so far," and emphasized, "Hanam City will continue to research and strive tirelessly to implement innovation administration that citizens can feel in their daily lives."
