Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation Participates in 'Malaysia International Tourism Fair'... Focus on Introducing Ulleungdo, Andong, Mungyeong, and Yeongju

Gyeongbuk Province and the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Organization (President Kim Namil) announced on the 9th that they participated in the "2024 Malaysia International Tourism Exhibition (MATTA)," Malaysia's leading travel fair held at MITEC in Kuala Lumpur from the 6th to the 8th, to promote and attract tourists through marketing activities.


At this exhibition, which attracted around 150,000 visitors, the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Organization introduced Gyeongbuk's representative autumn and winter tourist destinations and showcased drama filming locations in Gyeongbuk based on popular dramas among people in their 20s and 30s.

In addition, the promotional booth was designed with a winter image of Uleungdo, Gyeongbuk's representative winter tourist destination. The catchphrase "Snow Island, Uleung" was used to attract the interest of visitors and meet the demand for winter travel.


The Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Organization also highlighted its commitment to successfully hosting the 2025 APEC Summit, which was recently secured in Gyeongju, emphasizing that Gyeongbuk Province is emerging as a world-class city.


Major festivals representing Gyeongbuk, such as the Andong International Mask Dance Festival, Mungyeong Apple Festival, and Yeongju World Punggi Ginseng Expo, were also prominently introduced.


The Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Organization promoted its travel information platform "Gyeongbuk Nadri" through an SNS follow event. In addition, a survey event was conducted to identify demand for travel to Korea and collect data for future marketing activities.


On the main promotional stage of the exhibition, a presentation was held under the theme "The Center of Korea, Where History Meets Nature, Gyeongsangbuk-do," highlighting the diverse attractions of Gyeongbuk tourism.


President Kim Namil stated, "Participating in the '2024 Malaysia International Tourism Exhibition,' Malaysia's largest fair, provided a great opportunity to promote Gyeongbuk to Malaysian tourists," and added, "The organization will continue to make every effort to successfully host the APEC Summit and attract foreign tourists."
