The Korea Customs Service announced on the 9th that its electronic customs clearance system, ‘Uni-PASS (UNI-PASS)’, has passed the certification audit by the British Standard Institution (BSI), maintaining the ‘ISO 20000’ certification for 19 consecutive years.
ISO 20000 is an international standard certification for information and communication service management issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is regarded as the most prestigious international certification in the field of information and communication services.
Uni-PASS was the first in the world to obtain ISO 20000 certification in the customs clearance field in September 2006. By passing this year’s regular audit, it has maintained the certification for 19 consecutive years.
The ISO 20000 certification is subject to a regular audit every three years to determine whether it will be maintained.
Jinhee Lee, Director of Information Data Policy at the Korea Customs Service, said, “The Korea Customs Service will continue to manage and improve the quality of the Uni-PASS service, lead international standards in the customs clearance field, and strive to provide trusted customs administration to the public and businesses.”
