Democratic Party Brain Lawyer Karen Dunn Recruited
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris has entered special training with a veteran debate expert who has previously exposed former President Donald Trump, ahead of her first TV debate, the New York Times (NYT) reported on the 6th (local time).
According to the report, ahead of the debate scheduled for the 10th, Vice President Harris is preparing for a final rehearsal with debate expert attorney Karen Dunn (48).
Attorney Dunn has been responsible for training Democratic presidential and vice-presidential candidates in debates since 2008 and is especially known for skillfully handling politicians with strong self-esteem.
Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who prepared for presidential debates with Dunn, described Dunn's method as a "combination of toughness and love."
Clinton said, "Dunn is not afraid to say 'That won't do,' 'That doesn't make sense,' or 'You can do better,'" adding, "She also encourages by saying, 'Look, I think you're on the right track,' and 'Just a little more effort is needed.'"
Dunn began her career by joining Hillary Clinton's campaign ahead of the 2000 Senate election, working as her chief communications secretary. She then briefly left politics to attend Yale Law School and later worked as a judicial clerk.
When Hillary Clinton ran in the 2008 presidential primary, Dunn returned to the Clinton campaign, and after Barack Obama won the Democratic primary, she helped prepare him for debates.
Following Obama's election, she worked in the White House Counsel's Office and later served as a federal prosecutor in Virginia.
Those who prepared for debates with Dunn said she not only meticulously manages materials but also obsessively controls information internally to prevent leaks.
She reportedly does not distribute materials via computer but provides printed copies, later requiring them to be destroyed or returned.
Her meticulousness was fully demonstrated during the 2016 TV debate between former President Trump and Clinton.
At that time, former Secretary Clinton said, "Trump, who likes beauty pageants, insulted Alicia Machado (a former Miss Universe) by calling her 'Miss Piggy' and 'Miss Housekeeper,' telling her to lose weight," adding, "She is now an American citizen and will vote in the November election," which embarrassed former President Trump.
Trump seemed unprepared for Clinton's attack and repeatedly asked, "How did you find that out?"
