Porsche Collides Head-On with Motorcycle Driving Normally After Crossing Center Line
A Porsche driver with a license suspension-level blood alcohol content caused a fatal head-on collision, resulting in the death of a motorcycle rider in his 50s.
According to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency on the 7th, at around 1:38 a.m. on the 5th, a man in his 20s, identified as A, was driving a Porsche passenger car under the influence in the one-lane one-way road in Gohyeon-dong, Geoje City. He crossed the center line and collided head-on with a delivery motorcycle that was traveling normally.
As a result of the accident, the motorcycle rider B, a man in his 50s, was seriously injured and transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but was eventually pronounced dead. Police who arrived at the scene measured A’s blood alcohol concentration and found it to be at the license suspension level.
B was reportedly returning to the office after completing a delivery. He was known to be a terminal cancer patient with two children. He had lost his job several years ago and had been living alone in Geoje for the past six months, working in delivery to support his family. A colleague of B said, “I heard he was given a three-month terminal prognosis at the hospital.”
During the police investigation, A argued with officers, demanding “bring a warrant for my arrest,” but later stated that he “does not remember” the circumstances of the accident. The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident based on vehicle black box footage and speed analysis.
Meanwhile, last month, it was reported that Jeon Yun-bae (43), a delivery driver who had gained attention for earning 12 million won a month, passed away due to a traffic accident. Jeon fell into a coma after colliding with a bus and underwent one or two surgeries but ultimately lost his life.
Jeon appeared on SBS’s “Master of Living” broadcast in June as a delivery master, gaining public recognition. A delivery worker for seven years, he reportedly worked intensively every day from 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. without taking any days off.
