Two Organization Heads Join Hands at Yeongam County Office on the 6th
Seeking to Improve Residents' Quality of Life and Regional Joint Development

Gwangju Seo-gu and Jeonnam Yeongam-gun Sign Friendship Exchange Agreement On the 6th, Woo Seung-hee, Governor of Yeongam County, Jeollanam-do, and Kim Yi-gang, Mayor of Seo-gu, Gwangju, signed a friendship exchange agreement for joint regional development at Yeongam County Office.

Seo-gu District of Gwangju Metropolitan City and Yeongam County of Jeollanam-do have joined hands for mutual development. On the 6th, Seo-gu Mayor Kim Ikang and Yeongam County Governor Woo Seunghee signed a friendship exchange agreement at Yeongam County Office to improve residents' quality of life and promote joint regional development.


On this day, the two cities promised ▲continuous exchange and cooperation on common interests such as administration, economy, culture, tourism, and sports ▲promotion of friendship and mutual development through sharing various municipal policies and personnel exchanges ▲active cooperation in various fields such as culture, arts, sports, and joint marketing of agricultural and specialty products ▲active support for youth and private-level exchange activities to contribute to mutual understanding and friendship.


Seo-gu Mayor Kim Ikang said, “Seo-gu, which has been selected as an excellent institution in innovation evaluation for seven consecutive years, and Yeongam, which is taking off through innovation, share a common denominator of continuously practicing proactive administration to realize innovative policies that residents are satisfied with and can feel in their daily lives.” He added, “I hope this agreement will be an opportunity for the two cities to learn from each other's strengths, share resources, and stand tall together as the district slogan says, growing bigger through mutual development.”


Yeongam County Governor Woo Seunghee stated, “I hope this will be an opportunity for the two cities to create a good local community that lives together by promoting broad exchanges and cooperation, developing local autonomy, understanding different cultures between urban and rural areas, and fulfilling new values.”


Meanwhile, Seo-gu plans to actively support sales channels by providing booths for agricultural and specialty products from Yeongam County and Boseong County, cities with which it has friendship exchange agreements, at the ‘Chuseok Holiday Gift Exhibition’ to be held on the 9th to revitalize traditional markets.
