Gijang County: Local Women Also Unite in Support of Attracting KTX-Eum Stop Members of the Gijang County Women's Association are performing a promotional event to attract a KTX-Eum stop station.

This performance took place prior to the '2024 Gender Equality Week Commemoration Ceremony' held at Gijang-gun World Cup Village. Around 800 members of the Women's Association Council participated, raising their voices together to support the establishment of a KTX-Eum stop.

A member of the Women's Association Council who participated in the performance stated, "With the thought of contributing to the attraction of a KTX-Eum stop, the members of the women's organizations voluntarily took part in this performance," and added, "As a resident of Gijang-gun, I hope the day comes soon when we can use the KTX-Eum."

Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang-gun, emphasized, "Considering the Osiria Tourism Complex, which attracts over 10 million visitors annually, the Gijang Heavy Ion Therapy Center as a hub for cancer treatment in southern Korea, the Dongnam Radiation Medical Science Industrial Complex, the transportation demand for 13 industrial complexes in the region, and the geographical advantage of being located between Ulsan and Busan, there is more than enough justification for attracting a KTX-Eum stop." He added, "We will do our utmost to secure the stop until the very last moment when the decision is made."

All residents of Gijang-gun are actively participating in the efforts to attract a KTX-Eum stop. The county completed a feasibility study for attracting a KTX-Eum stop in 2022 and submitted a petition with 141,000 signatures from residents to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2023.
