This campaign, which started at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in March, involves posting a photo on social media holding a sign with a message to eradicate youth gambling and nominating the next participant in a relay format. The campaign runs until the 17th.
Superintendent Park nominated Choi Hakbeom, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, and Kim Gwanghoe, President of the Gyeongnam Student Council and a third-year student at Geoje Okpo High School, as the next participants.
Recently, illegal gambling targeting adolescents has emerged as a social issue and is leading to serious secondary crimes.
In response, the Gyeongnam Office of Education is collaborating with specialized organizations in the province, such as the Gyeongnam Gambling Problem Prevention and Healing Center, to provide on-site gambling prevention education, professional development training for faculty and staff, and counseling and treatment support.
