Final Decision at Shareholders' Meeting and Board of Directors on the 27th
On the 6th, SC Jeil Bank held an Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee meeting and announced that it has decided to recommend Lee Kwang-hee (58), the current Head of the Corporate Finance Group (Vice President), as the final candidate for the next President.
Vice President Lee was born in 1966 and majored in Economics at Wesleyan University in the United States. He completed his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
He gained international finance experience at Merrill Lynch International in New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore, then worked at UBS Securities before joining SC Jeil Bank in 2010. After joining, he consecutively served as Deputy Head of the Global Corporate Finance Department and Head of the Corporate Finance Group (Vice President), and is evaluated to have greatly contributed to the global business expansion of corporate clients by utilizing SC Group’s global network.
Furthermore, through balanced profit growth and asset soundness management, he has continuously generated high Operating Profit and Return on Tangible Equity over the past five years.
The Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee stated, “We evaluated the candidates in detail regarding leadership in the financial sector, sharing of the bank’s vision, public interest, and efforts toward sound management. Vice President Lee received the highest score among the candidates due to his professional and international experience and capabilities, outstanding leadership, and smooth communication skills, as well as his significant contributions to SC Jeil Bank’s consistent achievement of strong financial performance and leadership in sustainable finance.”
Meanwhile, the final candidate recommended this time will be officially appointed as the next President through shareholder meeting and board approval on the 27th. The term will be three years, starting from January 8 next year, the day after the current President Park Jong-bok’s term ends.
