The National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (Suhyup) is expanding the inclusion of seafood in meal plans for military personnel in collaboration with the Army's 52nd Division to promote seafood consumption.

On the 6th, Suhyup announced that it signed a business agreement on this matter at the headquarters of the 52nd Division located in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province.

According to this agreement, Suhyup plans to promote seafood consumption by not only providing fresh seafood for military meals but also conducting various promotional activities such as seafood tasting events and field cooking training tours.

The 52nd Division also intends to conduct surveys on seafood preferences among soldiers and reflect the results in meal plan arrangements through collaboration with Suhyup.

Suhyup and the 52nd Division have agreed to cooperate in operations to ensure the safe fishing activities of fishermen. The 52nd Division, which performs defense duties in the metropolitan area, is also responsible for guarding the Suhyup headquarters building, a national critical facility equipped with a fishing vessel communication system.

To commemorate the business agreement, Suhyup provided special meals of 700 servings each of butter-grilled abalone and grilled sea eel to the division's soldiers on the day and, together with Suhyup Bank, donated 10 million won as a consolation fund.

Labor Jin, Chairman of Suhyup, said, "Thanks to the 52nd Division's steadfast protection of the fishing vessel communication facilities directly linked to fishermen's safety, all fishermen can navigate the seas without incident," adding, "We will do our best to provide fresh and nutritious seafood with the determination that the health of military personnel contributes to national security."
