A, who runs a dessert shop near a university in Changwon, Gyeongnam, revealed on their social media service (SNS) on the 4th that "a group order of 70 sets came from a nearby university." They said, "Since school events sometimes pay on the day, I sent a payment request message again in the morning and made the desserts," adding, "When I called the orderer just before delivery, they said, 'You haven't been paid, so isn't it canceled? Don't come.'" The dessert set ordered at that time consisted of one 2,500 won coffee and one 3,000 won dessert.
A explained, "The orderer was not a student but from the graduate school. They said people disliked the dacquoise because it was too rich," and expressed anger, saying, "Then shouldn't they have contacted me sooner to cancel? When I told them to at least pay half, they arrogantly said, 'I'm sorry for not notifying the cancellation, but I can't pay.'" They continued, "Since I run the shop alone, I couldn't properly take other orders for two hours while making these," and lamented, "After being notified of the cancellation, I was stunned and wasted an hour. It felt like being hit on the head by someone." The orderer was confirmed to be a student attending the graduate school of a nearby university, and after holding a freshman welcome party that day, they distributed desserts purchased from another place, not A's shop.
After the story became known, A's SNS received over 1,000 comments. Users expressed anger and support with comments such as "I would want to buy it too," "They are not that young, so don't live so shamelessly," and "I'm a student at that university, and I feel sorry." Encouraged by this, A posted the 70 canceled coffees on a secondhand trading app at a price lower than the regular price, and it was reported that a department of the university purchased them after learning the story. A expressed gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank everyone who got angry as if it were their own business and gave me various advice," and added, "Thanks to these people, the world still feels worth living in. If anyone orders from my shop, whether visiting or delivery, I will take even better care of them."
