Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province held the 2024 Yeongdeok County Gender Equality Week event at the Yeju Culture and Arts Center on the 4th, under the theme "Yeongdeok of Gender Equality: Working Together, Caring Together."
This event, organized by the Yeongdeok County Women's Association Council (President: Kang Pil-yeo), began with a performance by the Eolssu Pungmuldan, a traditional percussion group composed of local elementary school students. It also featured commendations for individuals who contributed to gender equality and a performance of "Blue Twilight" by the Madanggeuk troupe Ugeumchi.
To further promote a culture of gender equality, a photo exhibition of fathers caring for their children and a display of selected essays on pregnancy experiences were held. These activities provided an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of gender equality within the "family," the fundamental unit of society, and received positive feedback from participants.
County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "We will actively implement relevant policies so that Yeongdeok County can become a strong community where work and family life can coexist, and a gender-equal society where everyone works and cares together."
