Park Saecheol, Chairman of Oriental Jeonggong, Donates 100 Million Won to Dong-A University Development Fund

Expected to Emerge as a Global Shipbuilding Equipment Leader

Dong-A University announced that alumnus Park Secheol, Chairman and CEO of Oriental Precision & Engineering, has donated 100 million KRW to the university's development fund.

The donation ceremony was held on the 5th at the president's office of Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus, attended by President Lee Haewoo, Chairman Park, Park Hyuntae, Director of External and International Affairs at Dong-A University, and representatives from Oriental Precision & Engineering.

Chairman Park graduated from Dong-A University's Department of Mechanical Engineering and joined Oriental Precision & Engineering in 1989. He has served as Head of Overseas Business Division and Vice President, and has been CEO since 2014, dedicating nearly 40 years to the company.

Oriental Precision & Engineering, the top company in the domestic ship crane market, is currently building its own research and development (R&D) center in Busan Eco Delta City, the first among domestic shipbuilding equipment companies.

With the establishment of the R&D campus, Oriental Precision & Engineering is expected to consolidate research capabilities of the region and its affiliates, focusing on localization research for high value-added cranes and special cranes, and to grow into a global shipbuilding equipment company.

Chairman Park stated, "I decided to donate to the development fund out of a desire to practice ESG management, which is a basic duty of companies to enhance sustainability in modern management, and to contribute in a small way to the development of my alma mater."

President Lee responded, "As someone who worked in the shipbuilding industry before joining the university, I am truly pleased to form this connection with you. I hope that Dong-A University, selected as a Glocal University and leading industry-academia cooperation in fields such as hydrogen valves, can create even greater synergy with your business."
