Professor Emeritus Song Seok-gu Elected as New Chairman of Sangsaeng and Peace

The nonprofit organization Sangsaeng and Peace announced that it held the '2024 3rd Regular Board Meeting and Extraordinary General Meeting' at the Koreana Hotel on August 29.

At this regular board meeting and extraordinary general meeting, chaired by Secretary General Kim Dong-gyu as the temporary chairperson, the agenda included the election of a new chairman and directors. After conducting the meeting, the new chairman and directors were confirmed.

Song Seok-gu, current Professor Emeritus at Dongguk University, was elected as the new chairman of Sangsaeng and Peace. The directors elected were Kang Tae-seo, former Director of Sports Promotion and Tourism/Operations Support Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Jin Jae-su, current Secretary General of the Gangneung World Choir Competition.

New chairman Song Seok-gu of Sangsaeng and Peace expressed his inauguration remarks: “I feel a great sense of responsibility upon being appointed as chairman of the Haepyeong Hanyangwon Memorial Project Association, whom I deeply respect. I will do my best in the given role to carry on the spirit of coexistence and peace of Mr. Haepyeong, and I am deeply grateful.”
