"Insulting, humiliating frame... Focused only on media play"
"Former President Moon should act exactly as he said"
Choo Kyung-ho, floor leader of the People Power Party, urged former President Moon Jae-in and Kim Hye-kyung, wife of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, to "confidently cooperate with the investigation if you are innocent. If you sincerely participate in the investigation and prove that there are no charges, everything will be resolved."

This was aimed at the investigation into the preferential hiring of Moon's former son-in-law Seo and the prosecution's inquiry into Kim's private use of the Gyeonggi Province corporate card.
Floor leader Choo said, "The investigation into Seo's preferential hiring is underway, but it is said that former administrative officer Shin decided not to appear for the witness examination scheduled for the 9th. It is also emphasized that Kim, the spouse of leader Lee, refused the prosecution's attempt to handle the private use of the Gyeonggi Province corporate card through a written investigation and instead appeared in person at the prosecution yesterday but then refused to testify."
He added, "Both the Moon presidential family and the Lee couple are focusing only on media play with frames of insult and humiliation without sincerely cooperating with the investigation and clearly explaining the suspicions."
Floor leader Choo said, "In November 2016, when Moon was an opposition presidential candidate, he said that the prosecution should not treat former President Park Geun-hye, who stated she would not cooperate with the investigation, with presidential courtesy but simply as a suspect. He also demanded immediate forced investigation of former President Park. I hope former President Moon acts according to what he said."
Meanwhile, the prosecution is investigating whether there was any quid pro quo between Seo's employment as a senior executive at Thai Vietjet in July 2018 and former Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Sang-jik's appointment as chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation in March of the same year. Thai Vietjet is a Thai low-cost airline reportedly owned by former lawmaker Lee, the founder of Eastar Jet.
