Man Walks Onto Highway and Stops Bus
A man intoxicated with alcohol was arrested on suspicion of walking onto a highway and stopping a moving bus.
On the 5th, the YouTube channel 'Seoul Police' uploaded a video titled "Is it all because of the homing instinct? A man dangerously walking on the highway."
The incident occurred on the Seoul Gyeongbu Expressway on the 14th of last month. In the early morning hours, a traffic police officer patrolling the highway discovered a bus stopped in the middle of the road. When the police approached to check, a man was found standing dazed in front of the bus door. It was determined that he was intoxicated and had staggered onto the highway, recklessly stopping passing buses and causing a disturbance by demanding the door be opened.
Since other vehicles were driving nearby, the man's actions could have easily led to a serious accident. The police quickly acted and arrested the man at the scene.
Netizens who heard about the story responded with various comments such as, "If he was that drunk, he should have taken a taxi," "The bus driver must have been so flustered," and "Isn't it too dangerous to be walking where cars are coming and going on the road?"
Meanwhile, according to Article 63 of the Road Traffic Act, drivers or pedestrians of vehicles other than automobiles must not travel on or cross highways. Violations may result in a fine of up to 300,000 won or detention.
