This program aims to help children who will lead the future experience technology closely related to their daily lives, cultivate essential competencies to adapt to the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, and grow into creative and innovative talents suitable for the digital age.
About 440 elementary school students from 28 facilities nationwide are participating, and on-site education is being conducted according to each facility's schedule until September. Customized education is provided for lower and upper grades, and using block coding kits, students carry out a team project to create robots with specific missions under the theme of 'Our Happy Village.' Through this process, children experience understanding the basic principles of coding and algorithms and explore problem-solving methods.
In particular, individual kits are provided so that students can not only acquire coding skills but also further demonstrate creativity in the process of concretizing and implementing their own ideas.
A foundation official stated, "We want to support a meaningful opportunity for children to develop imagination and a spirit of challenge through teamwork and collaboration beyond simple technology acquisition," adding, "We will continue to prepare various educational programs that strengthen the competencies needed in the digital age so that children can play a leading role in future society."
