L'Occitane Korea Employee Who Posted Exposed Photos of 'Seventeen Mingyu' Reported

Filing a Complaint for Violation of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act

An employee of L'Occitane Korea was reported to the police for posting revealing photos of Seventeen member Mingyu on social networking service (SNS).


On the 5th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had received a complaint filed against the L'Occitane Korea employee and assigned the case for investigation.

Earlier, on the 4th, a netizen filed a complaint through the National Police Agency's online portal, requesting an investigation into the L'Occitane Korea employee for violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes by unlawfully leaking revealing photos of Mingyu on SNS.


The controversy arose when the L'Occitane Korea employee posted unreleased photos of Mingyu taken during an advertising shoot on Instagram. It is known that some of the captured images included photos of Mingyu without his shirt. The employee also posted a caption saying, "Mingyu, who occupied a significant portion of my photo album. I was too anxious to delete them, but maybe it's time to organize."


In response to the controversy, L'Occitane Korea announced on the 3rd via their official SNS account that the employee was immediately suspended from duty and placed on standby. They added, "We take this matter very seriously and sincerely apologize to the artist and fans who were hurt by this incident."
