60 Employees from Uiwang Research Institute in Gyeonggi Participate
Hyundai Mobis held an event where expectant and new fathers among its employees competed in childcare skills.
On the 5th, Hyundai Mobis announced that it had held the 'Childcare Golden Bell' event the day before at its Uiwang Research Center in Gyeonggi Province.
This event, held for the first time this year, was promoted to encourage active childcare participation among male employees and to foster a corporate culture that pursues work-family balance.
About 400 employees at Hyundai Mobis’ Uiwang Research Center are parents of preschool children. Among them, the event was held for 60 participants who registered on a first-come, first-served basis. They answered questions on topics such as infant health, play, childcare knowledge, and childcare systems. After a second-chance round, Researcher Jinsoo Byun won the competition. Hyundai Mobis awarded Researcher Byun with a luxury resort accommodation voucher.
Researcher Byun said, "As a dual-income couple, I try to cook at home often to actively participate in childcare," adding, "My wife will be surprised when she hears about my win."
Meanwhile, Hyundai Mobis operates various family-friendly programs. Specifically, it has already held three childcare lectures featuring guest speakers this year alone. It also provides education for employees on respecting children’s rights, characteristics of infant development, cases of child safety accidents, and emergency first aid. Since last year, it has secured land in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, and built a daycare center to support balancing work and childcare.
