Water Play Facilities Become Exemplary for Strict Safety Management
Attendance Up 53% from Last Year's 24,000
Gijang-gun (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced that the "Witgoll Park Outdoor Water Playground" located in Jeonggwan-eup has firmly established itself as a representative summer attraction in the region, as the number of visitors has significantly increased this summer.
During this year's operating period from June to August, the water playground attracted a total of approximately 37,000 visitors (as of August 31), which represents a 53% increase compared to last year's 24,000 visitors.
The "Witgoll Park Outdoor Water Playground" covers an area of about 1,170 square meters and is equipped with water play facilities such as two water slides, two water drops, and eight budle fountains, as well as convenience facilities including four shower facilities, two changing rooms, a first aid room, and restrooms. It is known as a healing spot in the region, popular not only among local children but also among residents and tourists.
This year, the county completed pre-maintenance such as replacing old pavement materials at the water playground and has focused on creating a pleasant and safe environment by regularly conducting water quality inspections through professional companies.
In particular, professionally trained safety personnel were stationed at all times, and Governor Jung Jongbok conducted on-site inspections three times, ensuring thorough safety management and completing operations without a single safety accident.
Governor Jung Jongbok said, "Thanks to the active cooperation of residents during the record-breaking heat wave, we were able to operate the water playground safely," and added, "We will actively reflect the feedback from residents during this year's operation in future facility improvements and management, so that next summer, we can welcome everyone with an even more convenient and safer water playground."
