Various Holiday Events Held at 13 Traditional Markets and Alley-type Shopping Districts in the Area
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will hold various holiday events at traditional markets in celebration of the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
The event, held from September 2 to 17, was planned to promote the revitalization of local traditional markets and to ease the burden of holiday shopping for residents.
The event will take place simultaneously at seven traditional markets in the area: Jangmi Jeil Market, Myeonmok Alley Market, Dongwon Traditional General Market, Dongwon Traditional Market Shopping District, Sagajeong Market, Woorim Alley Market, and Jungnang East Market, as well as six alley-type shopping districts: Taeneung Alley Shopping District, Sangbong Meokja Alley Shopping District, Sagajeong 51-gil Alley Shopping District, Jangmi Flower Light Street Alley Shopping District, Bongwoo Market Alley Shopping District, and Mukdong Dokkaebi Market Alley Shopping District.
Each market will offer a variety of products, including ritual items and holiday food ingredients, at discounts of up to 30%. Customers who purchase over a certain amount will receive Onnuri gift certificates.
In particular, this Chuseok, the ‘Traditional Market Companion Festival’ will be held at Dongwon Traditional General Market, Woorim Alley Market, and Sagajeong Market. Various programs such as performances by invited singers and customer singing contests are prepared, and a generous prize drawing event will be held for customers who purchase over 30,000 won.
On the first day of the visit, the 4th, Mayor Ryu visited Woorim Alley Market, purchasing various foods such as rice cakes and jeon (Korean pancakes), encouraging merchants and spending time communicating with residents.
He plans to carefully check for any inconveniences in using the local traditional markets until the 12th and encourage the revitalization of traditional markets.
