2024 First Half Yeongyang County Governor's Pledge Project Progress Report Held
Average fulfillment rate of 84 pledges at 58.1%, 24 completed, 60 in progress
Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province is accelerating the implementation of its 84 pledges as it passes the halfway point of the 8th popularly elected administration.
On September 3, a report meeting on the progress of the county governor's pledge projects for the first half of 2024 was held in the main conference room of Yeongyang County Office, attended by 11 pledge implementation evaluation committee members and more than 70 others. The meeting reviewed the status of pledge implementation over the past two years of the 8th administration.
The results of the review, which covered whether the 84 pledge projects promoted over the past two years were implemented as originally intended, the progress of each project, budget acquisition, and execution rates, were first self-evaluated by each department and then discussed at the meeting with feedback from citizen evaluation committee members. The final results will be disclosed on the Yeongyang County website.
As of the end of June, the average pledge implementation rate stands at 58.1%, with 24 out of 84 projects completed and 60 in progress, indicating smooth progress in fulfilling the pledges.
The county stated that while the first half of the 8th administration was a period of sowing the seeds and planting the seedlings of the pledges, the latter half will be a time for the pledges to bloom and bear fruit, and they plan to maximize the pledge implementation rate.
Yeongyang County has set "Happy Change, Hopeful Yeongyang" as the administrative goal of the 8th administration, and is focusing all efforts on creating conditions for a happy life filled with hope for the future by putting forward practical, everyday pledges that citizens can truly feel, thereby ensuring a stable life for residents.
County Governor Oh Dochang said, "We will do our utmost to fulfill our pledges, which are promises to the citizens, and above all, we will realize an administration where each and every resident can truly feel the happy changes and hopeful Yeongyang," adding, "With the unwavering trust and support of the citizens as our foundation, we will continue to pursue change and hope in the third year of the 8th administration."
At the "2024 National Basic Local Government Manifesto Best Practices Competition" held at the end of July, Yeongyang County's excellence in pledges was recognized as it received the "Grand Prize" for the "Nation's First Health Checkup Project for Residents Aged 50 and Over," following the "Excellence Award" at the 2023 competition.
