September 13-19, 7 Days, 21 Projects in 6 Major Areas... 236 People on 24-Hour Emergency Duty
▲ Disaster Safety & Hygiene ▲ Welfare ▲ Transportation ▲ Resolving Daily Inconveniences ▲ Price Stability ▲ Establishing Public Service Discipline
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) will implement a “Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Plan” for one week from September 13, the day before the holiday, to September 19, in celebration of the national holiday Chuseok.
To prevent administrative gaps during the long holiday period, the district has set 21 projects across six major areas: ▲strengthening citizen safety ▲supporting marginalized neighbors ▲supporting transportation use ▲resolving daily inconveniences ▲stabilizing holiday prices ▲establishing public service discipline, aiming to create a comfortable and safe holiday.
First and foremost, securing citizen safety is the top priority, and a “Chuseok Comprehensive Situation Room” will operate 24 hours a day. A total of 236 employees will give up their holidays and work in shifts for a week at the district office’s comprehensive situation room and functional task forces to maintain essential disaster management functions and prepare for emergencies.
A “Typhoon and Flood Countermeasures Headquarters” will be operated to prepare for severe weather such as typhoons, and relief measures for disaster victims will be established in case of disasters. Pre-inspections of disaster-vulnerable facilities such as large construction sites and strengthened on-site patrols during the holiday period will prevent potential facility safety accidents. In addition, hygiene inspections will be conducted targeting businesses handling ritual food and restaurants in large shopping malls to ensure food safety directly related to citizens’ health.
To prevent welfare gaps during the holiday, consolation goods will be delivered to senior welfare facilities, including 175 senior centers, and dedicated life support workers will check the health status of 1,675 elderly living alone one by one before and after the holiday. To prepare for crisis situations, monitoring will be strengthened through IoT and companion robots, providing meticulous care for marginalized neighbors.
Furthermore, during the holiday period, crackdowns on illegal activities by late-night taxis and illegal parking will be conducted to reduce traffic inconveniences. At the same time, eight public parking lots such as Gyo-tong Gongwon-gil and Wirye-seong-gil, seven school-affiliated parking lots, and 15 public facility-affiliated parking lots including the Police Hospital will be opened free of charge to minimize parking inconveniences.
Various measures have also been prepared to resolve daily inconveniences. An “Emergency Medical Treatment Countermeasure Situation Room” will be operated on September 15 and from the 17th to 18th for three days on the first floor of the public health center’s internal medicine department to prevent medical service gaps, and holiday medical institutions and pharmacies will be separately designated and operated.
The district’s efforts for a clean urban environment do not take a holiday either. Before the holiday, cleaning-vulnerable areas such as the banks of Tancheon Stream will be intensively managed, and during the holiday period, about 800 personnel will be mobilized to maintain cleaning functions. To avoid confusion in waste disposal, the disposal methods will be promoted in advance, and each neighborhood community center will independently clean vulnerable areas.
In addition, to stabilize prices in preparation for the holiday, a focused inspection of price trends for Chuseok seasonal products will be conducted for fifteen days until the 18th, and price tag display system guidance and inspections will be carried out at stores and convenience stores. To ensure stable supply of agricultural, marine, and livestock products for the holiday, a direct transaction market for Chuseok will be held on the sidewalks in front of the district office on the 10th and 11th, and events for traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts will be supported to stimulate the local economy.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “We will thoroughly implement the comprehensive Chuseok plan to ensure that all citizens have a safe and healthy holiday without any administrative gaps. I hope everyone has a comfortable and abundant holiday like the full moon of Hangawi, and we will do our best to minimize inconveniences during the holiday period.”
