4 Cities Including Yeosu, Daegu, Busan, and Gwangju
A Gathering for Regional Harmony and Communication Through Music
The Yeosu Office of Education Gifted Education Center Orchestra recently announced on the 3rd that it held the ‘Yeonghonam Youth Exchange Concert’ at Yeosu GS Caltex Yeulmaru, attended by about 1,000 members of the Yeonghonam educational community.
The ‘Yeonghonam Youth Exchange Concert’ is an event held for youth from four Yeonghonam cities?Yeosu, Daegu, Busan, and Gwangju?to promote regional harmony and communication through music. Marking its 10th year this year, the event was hosted by the Yeosu Office of Education and showcased high-quality performances to the Yeonghonam educational community at GS Caltex Yeulmaru.

This concert featured various performances including three pieces by the Yeosu Gifted Education Center Orchestra, such as ‘Waltz,’ five pieces by the Busan Yemoon Student Wind Orchestra, including ‘Midnight Serenade,’ and two pieces by the Gwangju Student Orchestra, including the ‘Romeo and Juliet Overture.’
Choi Dayeon, a student at Yeosu Chungmu High School, said, “I could feel my skills improving while preparing for the exchange concert. I will continue to work hard with the dream of becoming an artist.”
Baek Dohyun, Superintendent of the Yeosu Office of Education, stated, “The exchange concert involving youth from the four Yeonghonam cities is a stage where Yeonghonam unites through art, and where talented individuals who will lead the future of Korea can grow together through education and the arts. We will do our best to realize glocal future education through youth exchanges in various fields.”
