The Geumbuk Jeongmaek trail construction project connects the Geumbuk Jeongmaek Ecological Forest Trail and access roads with Geumgwang Lake, and is being implemented in three phases: ▲ecological trail construction ▲visitor center construction ▲Geumgwang Lake Sky Observatory and Sky Trail construction.

The city completed the construction of the Geumgwang Lake Sky Observatory and Sky Trail on the 3rd and plans to partially open it from the 4th to the delegations and tourists from 32 countries participating in the '17th Anseong World Soft Tennis Championships' held on the same day.

The Sky Observatory stands 25 meters high, offering a panoramic view from the top floor of a section of the Geumbuk Jeongmaek, including the peaks of Chiljangsan~Chilhyeonsan~Gwangyeonggogae, as well as the entire waterside of Geumgwang Lake. The Sky Trail extends 167 meters with a maximum height of 18 meters, allowing ecological observation of the mid-upper forest layers.

The city has also completed maintenance on most sections of the ecological trail construction, and once the visitor center is completed at the end of this month, starting next month, it will provide information on the Geumbuk Jeongmaek trail courses by section, as well as on the flora and fauna inhabiting the Geumbuk Jeongmaek natural ecosystem, temples, historical figures, and cultural resources.

Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong-si, said, "We expect the Anseong-si Geumbuk Jeongmaek National Ecological and Cultural Trail to stand tall as the best trail infrastructure in the metropolitan area."
