Financial Institutions and Various Events Promote Benefits Such as Free Issuance and Convenience
Ganggu-myeon in Yeongdeok-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, is actively promoting the use of the 'Certificate of Personal Signature Verification,' which was introduced to resolve the inefficiency and side effects of the seal certificate system.

The Certificate of Personal Signature Verification has the same legal effect as a seal certificate. Unlike the seal certificate, which required a visit to the local administrative welfare center and prior registration of a seal, the certificate can be issued immediately anywhere in the country with just an ID, without any prior registration procedure.
Additionally, since the certificate is only issued after the applicant visits the administrative welfare center, goes through an identity verification process, and signs in person, it is safer to use than a seal certificate as it prevents forgery, alteration, or proxy issuance in advance.
Furthermore, with the partial amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Act on Confirmation of Personal Signature, which took effect on April 2, the issuance fee of 600 won per certificate has been temporarily waived until 2028.
To widely promote the advantages and awareness of the Certificate of Personal Signature Verification, Ganggu-myeon is distributing official letters and information leaflets to local financial institutions and real estate agencies that require seal certificates. In addition, Ganggu-myeon plans to actively promote the convenience and safety of this system to residents in connection with the 6th Love Sharing Thrifty Day event to be held next week.
Nam Heedong, head of Ganggu-myeon, stated, "The Certificate of Personal Signature Verification system not only prevents damages such as seal forgery and proxy issuance associated with seal certificates, but also increases convenience for residents and reduces administrative costs. We are actively promoting the system so that more people can benefit from its advantages."
