Strengthening Busan as a Global Hub City
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology held the 'Busan RISE Settlement-Type Study Abroad Program International Student Late Admission Ceremony' at the university's Jinri Hall Convention Hall on August 31.
On August 31, a group commemorative photo was taken after the "Foreign International Students Orientation" held at the Convention Hall of Jinri Building, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology.
This fall semester, 221 students from five countries?Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Myanmar, China, and Mongolia?were admitted. The late admission ceremony and orientation were held to support international freshmen in adapting to campus life and their studies.
The ceremony was attended by President Kim Youngdo, Director of International Cooperation Kim Taekyung, Academic Affairs Director Kim Daekyung, and professors from each department. The event included a congratulatory speech from the president, guidance on academic and residency matters, and departmental orientations.
Since March 2024, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has been offering the 'K-STUDY-JOB-LIVING' foreigner-friendly curriculum to nurture foreign talent who can settle stably in Busan, in response to the demand for specialized and skilled foreign workers in domestic industries and to facilitate E-7 and F-2-R visa acquisition.
President Kim Youngdo stated, "Busan is becoming an even more attractive global hub city for international students," and added, "Dong-Eui Institute of Technology will continue to support international students by establishing foreigner-friendly departments that enable them to obtain work visas, strengthening their employability through tailored education, and helping them find employment and settle in the Busan region after graduation, making our university a happy place for international students."
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is currently recruiting international students in five departments eligible for E-7 visa acquisition: Mechanical Engineering, Electric Vehicle, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor and Electronic Industry, K-Care, and K-Beauty.
In particular, to support successful studies and stable settlement, the university operates a foreigner-friendly curriculum focused on Korean language, major-related practical Korean, settlement-type liberal arts, and practical major courses, and has transformed its system into the DIT Global Care System for close support of international students.
